Description: Round 3 of Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship saw Mahindra Racing return to Circuit Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City. Despite a strong set-up and good pace, qualifying saw Alexander miss out on the Duels by just 0.03 seconds. Oliver, who made it through to both of the Duels in Saudi Arabia also had to sit out the new knock-out event this time round after a lock-up in Turn 1 cost him his push lap. For the race, the drivers lined up in 13th (Sims) and 16th (Rowland). Sadly, the race ended early for Alexander after touching the wall, but, determined to give Oliver the best chance to score points, the team took a gamble with energy consumption and the Brit pushed heroically through the pack to climb as high as 8th. However, the aggressive strategy didn’t pay off in the end when the race leader forced an extra lap, and Oliver dropped back to 16th before the chequered flag. Despite the result, both drivers demonstrated great potential in qualifying and in the race Oliver had one of the most impressive drives of the day. Next up, Rome!
